Established in 1963 as Jordan's national carrier, Royal Jordanian a pioneer in the airline industry continues its journey to become the airline of choice for passenger traveling in the region and the world. For the last 42 years RJ has redefined the meaning of luxury, customer service, and innovative thinking. With the commitment to modernize our selves, Royal Jordanian have decided to re-brand itself.

Throughout this process; change is seen on the aircraft livery, logo, corporate image, and corporate colors, even the way we interact and speak with people. This all and more will grant Royal Jordanian the ability to become the airline of choice making Amman a gateway to the Levant and the world.

Royal Jordanian is a private shareholder company that saw the privatization process in February 2001, under the name of "Alia" the Royal Jordanian Airline Public Shareholding Company. A testimony of Royal Jordanian's excellent performance in the past, Royal Jordanian has been invited to join oneworld airline alliance in 2005 making Royal Jordanian the first airline in the region to be given such a prestigious honor that will benefit both oneworld and Royal Jordanian Airlines
