The Biesterfeld Group's principal business areas are plastics, specialty chemicals, international chemicals trading, chemicals distribution and trading in agricultural products. Our subsidiary BIT-SERV provides all IT services required by the Group and also supplies IT solutions to external businesses.
Biesterfeld AG adheres to clear and unambiguous principles of corporate governance. The Executive Board manages the business in line with the principle of two-tier governance and is monitored and advised by the Supervisory Board.
The Executive Board is responsible for the management of the company and is committed to increasing enterprise value for the long term. Its central responsibilities include formulating business strategy, setting the company’s financial targets and allocating resources.
The Supervisory Board works closely together with the Executive Board and is consulted on decisions of fundamental importance for the development of the company. In addition, the Executive Board keeps the Supervisory Board regularly informed of the progress of the business and the company’s budgeting process.
